Game Time Pump Up!

Game Time Pump Up!
The rich and the famous own thousand-dollar merchandise that a normal person like me, wouldn’t be able to afford. Many things like diamond jewelry in every color, or a nice Lamborghini car. They could own about 4 coach purses, as well. It would probably take me many years to afford what they can get in a day. Most important things they have usually end up on eBay or in the hands of someone who’s not as rich. But tell me, what does valuable really mean?
As I spin the dial to find a good song, my finger goes around, and around, and around. Until I stop and it’s on a song to get me ready for a game. The noise is coming through the earphones that are in my ears, blasting either T.I. or my Lil Wayne music.
As I am sitting on the side line, I get my shin pads, socks, cleats, goalie shirt, and goalie gloves on. Double knotting my cleats making sure my shoes don't come off during the game. My team’s cheering as we do our running across the field doing our warm ups before our first game. We then stop and stretch then merge into groups preparing for the game. We are looking like a team, but now this is the test to make sure we are a team.
The game begins and I'm standing in goal waiting to make some saves. Whistles are blown and kicks and throws are taken. Coaches are yelling from the side and passing of the ball is controlled up and down the field. I'm screaming, having girls spread out and talk, I control this game.
As I'm listening to my ipod I can't really hear everything around me but the music that I can hear in my ears. Occasionally I will sing to myself and people's heads will turn. But sometimes I have someone sitting next to me with one of my earpieces in their ear and the other in my ear and as we listen together the music gets us pumped and ready for the game.
A goal was scored by Brianna Tabin and we are now in the lead. Another goal was scored by Megan Leese then Maddy Dowd. Half time whistle is blown and my team runs off the field. At half time, my team gets a prep talk about what we need to work on and what we’ve been doing correctly. Coaches seemed pleased in us so far because were in the lead by a lot. But now it’s our turn to step up on the defense work, headings and trappings.
The battle begins once again on the field. This time Casey’s in goal ready to make some saves, since I’ve already done my duty. As I’m sitting on the bench, I’m ready to hear, “Hey Knuckle-Head, I’m putting you in.” I’ve never played field before, but I’m ready for a new challenge. But then Coach called my name, and she tells me to go to right wing, and I am set. As I’m running in to change subs, I can hear my team cheering me on since they knew it was my first time out there.
As I’m playing my music louder then everything else, I let the beat of the music run through my body. It’s between me and the music. I can hear nothing else. T.I. and his “What You Know About That,” and Lil Wayne and his “Hey Mr. Carter.” Otherwise, music can get me ready, calm me down, whatever it is, I’m always in the mood.
These two items both have an impact in my life. Before each game I usually plug my ipod into my ears and zone out on everything else and focus on my game. The music usually motivates me to get pumped up for the game. And as soon as I step on the field, I’m ready to play. Then on the way home (if I have a good game) the music calms me down and relaxes me.
Now, what does valuable even mean? Some say its something that is worth a lot of money, and others think it’s something that means a lot to you. But I know that both my ipod and soccer games are valuable to me; meaning the thrill of the soccer game and my music will never cost a cent for me. Just enjoying it is all I need.
